The Inlet lip skin manufacturing or handling generated defects for mid-size aircrafts could affect the Specific Fuel Consumption. After describing possible defects and their influence on the SFC (and other relevant parameters that are deemed important such as distortion for instance), use the geometric data (measured data) provided by GKN Aerospace to predict the effects and quantify the % SFC increase due to these effects (waviness, Roughness, change of thickness and so on). This project requires a deep literature review and an understanding and prediction capability of aerodynamic effects.
