Biography
Prof. Kaptanoglu's work lies at the intersection of three topics: applied mathematics, scientific machine learning, and nuclear fusion. His vision is to advance these fields by providing theoretical and computational tools for modeling, control, and optimization of plasmas and complex dynamical systems more generally.
Areas of interest include:
- Stellarator optimization
- Numerical methods in plasma physics
- Dynamical systems theory & its connections with machine learning
