Master of Aerospace Engineering in Composite Materials & Structures

The Master of Aerospace Engineering in Composite Materials & Structures (MAE-CMS) is a practice-oriented, multidisciplinary master's degree program for recent graduates and engineering professionals who wish to expand their knowledge or broaden their skills in the emerging field of composite materials.  Students will also learn skills that are vital in the aerospace engineering industry, such as business, management, manufacturing, and communication. The MAE-CMS program is a terminal degree, meaning that it does not lead to PhD studies in Aeronautics and Astronautics; rather, it is aimed at developing practical engineering skills needed in industry.

Degree Requirements

The program requires a minimum of 12 courses, plus 8 credits of independent or team project work.  There is no thesis requirement for the MAE-CMS, but written and oral reports must be submitted at the conclusion of the project, which may be a laboratory experiment, team or independent design study, work-related project, or other project selected in consultation with the student’s research advisor or the Graduate Program Advisor.
