Direct to College is a new admission process that assures incoming freshman students who are admitted into the College of Engineering that they can pursue an engineering degree at the UW. The changes take effect for the incoming freshman class of 2018.
We are in the process of updating our website to reflect the changes. For details, see:
High School Students
The department encourages all prospective students currently in high school to attend a UW Campus Tour and Freshman Information Session (registration is required). These information sessions are hosted by the UW Office of Admissions and will cover how to apply to the UW in general. If interested, students may also register for a UW Residence Life Tour.
We ask that prospective students attend a UW Campus Tour and Freshman Information Session before requesting an advising appointment with the A&A Undergraduate Adviser. Please contact us firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about availability of an advising appointment. We are only able to schedule an advising appointment up to two weeks in advance. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any departmental tours.
In the months of March and April, the department offers information sessions geared towards high school students who are interested in the undergraduate program that leads to the Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering degree. All prospective students are welcome to attend (no registration necessary). These department information sessions are offered as part of the UW Admitted Student Preview Days and UW Engineering Discovery Days.
Unfortunately, we are unable to meet individually with all prospective students in the months of March and April due to the high number of inquiries we receive. We want to ensure that current undergraduate students in the program still receive advising and support in their studies. If you have follow up questions or are unable to make it to an information session, please contact us at email@example.com or (206) 616-1115. Thank you for your understanding.
The department encourages all prospective transfer students currently at a community college or other 4-year university to attend a UW Transfer Thursday Information Session (registration is required). These information sessions are hosted by the UW Office of Admissions and will cover how to apply to the UW in general. Sessions are generally every Thursday (except holidays) from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. in the Husky Union Building - Room 106.
The department also has drop-in hours for all prospective transfer students generally every Thursday (except holidays) from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Guggenheim Hall - Room 211. Drop-in hours are appropriate for prospective transfer students who have specific questions about applying to the undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering degree. Prospective transfer students are encouraged to bring along their unofficial transcripts. Please check the UW Transfer Thursdays website in case of cancellations of drop-in hours for Aeronautics & Astronautics.
