Diversity

The department of Aeronautics and Astronautics is committed to providing a supportive environment for all members of our community. A diverse department is essential for the future of our profession and the technical workforce needs of the country. Furthermore, the international scope of the aerospace industry absolutely requires a diverse work force. We strive to ensure a diverse pool of candidates in our personnel searches using various methods such as the UW diversity toolkit and the NSF Advance program. We work actively to ensure recruitment and participation from underrepresented groups through programs such as MESA, WiSE, DO-IT and MSEP.
