A&A Students Build Rocket to compete in Sounding Rocket Competition
The Daily, 6/26/09
The 10-foot, 8-inch rocket was designed and built by a team of 11 graduate students and four professors from UW A&A. The team has been working on the project for the past two quarters to compete in the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC), which took place June 25 and 26 in Utah.

Professor Mehran Mesbahi featured at the 2009 Distinguished Teaching Awards Showcase

Professor Mesbahi was recently featured at the Distinguished Teaching Award Showcase by giving a 20 minute mini-class which was modeled in the same way he teaches A&A undergrads. Professor Mesbahi was the 2005 recipient of the UW's Distinguished Teaching Award.

A&A Rocket Team Wins Two Awards at Experimental Sounding Rocket Association Competition

Students in AA 599G won the Furfaro Award for Technical Excellence at the 4th Annual Experimental Sounding Rocket Association Competition in Green River, Utah. They also received 2nd for the award for altitude.

A&A Alum to pilot space shuttle mission to Hubble Space Telescope
