Course Description

The main topics of the course are modeling, specification, interconnection, and robustness of feedback systems. On completion of the course, students will be able to construct (control-oriented) models for typical systems found in engineering and the sciences, specify and describe performace for feedback systems, and analyze open loop and feedback behavior of such systems.

Suggested prerequisites: A course in ordinary differential equations and knowledge of basic linear algebra.

Lectures: T/TH 8:30-10:30, Gowen 301
Homework sections: M/F 8:30-9:20, Guggenheim 306

The course is structured around ten modules. Each module begins with a powerpoint component to introduce the basic concepts of the module and to present material not easily handled on a board such as Matlab tools.
