- Undergraduate Degree Programs
The department offers the Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical
Engineering degree, based on a program of study of engineering science
with emphasis on the design and development of vehicles operating within
the atmosphere or in space. The program is accredited by the Accreditation
Board for Engineering and Technology, and all graduates must meet certain
specific distribution requirements.
- Graduate Degree Programs
The Master of Science and Master of Aerospace Engineering programs are
designed to provide graduates a high level of technical competence for
careers as professional engineers, while the Ph.D. program is directed
to the training of engineers for research programs. The interests of the
department cover the traditional areas of aeronautics and astronautics,
and they also extend into those interdisciplinary areas where many of today's
challenges are to be found. This brings currency and excitement to the
program and ensures contact with the future. While the impact of aircraft
and space vehicles on our society is pervasive, the engineering sciences
associated with the aerospace industry have an even wider application.
