Description

This course is designed to expose prospective engineering majors to the fundamental concepts of Mechanics, and provide experience with engineering logic for solving real-world problems.  The quiz sections are run as "hands-on" tutorials in order to illustrate principles and methods and to develop team work skills.

Prerequisites:  MATH 126 or MATH 136; PHYS 121

Class Policies

All exams are closed-book with one page of notes allowed for midterms and 2 pages of notes allowed for the final exam.

Homework problem sets should be handed in at the beginning of lecture on the day they are due; however, homework can also be turned in by 4:30 pm in AA210 cabinet drawer located in GUGG Rm 211 (AA main office).  Note: this office closed for lunch from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

Late HW will be accepted for up to one day past due date.  A maximum of 50% credit will be given for late HW.

Please refer to College of Engineering Policies on Cheating  They will be strictly enforced.
