UWAA Careers

A degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the UW serves as a gateway to a wide range of careers. Most graduates, at all degree levels, understandably build their careers in the aerospace industry, whether working for major corporations or in smaller aerospace companies. Others find satisfying career tracks with government national laboratories (NASA being just one example) or in academia. A significant number of A&A graduates have served in the United States military, most typically in the Air Force or Navy, in a variety of positions ranging from piloting aircraft and helicopters to managing scientific or administrative programs. In some cases individuals build on their excellent skills in aerospace engineering to move into other areas of engineering, such as mechanical, computer, or electrical engineering, or to move into non-engineering disciplines, such as business, medicine, or law. In every case, graduates have found that the education provided by our department has prepared them exceptionally well for the career of their choice.
