The goal of the HIT-II experiment is to further develop and study the use of Coaxial Helicity Injection (CHI) as a means of producing current drive. HIT-II also has the option of utilizing Ohmic current drive like most tokamaks, so the interaction of CHI and Ohmic current drive may also be studied.
